As an RN, Registered Nurse Clinical Supervisor you will:
Develops and implements a comprehensive plan of care including preventative and rehabilitative nursing procedures where appropriate in accordance with MD orders. Identifies problems and establishes measurable goals
Coordinates the plan of care with members of the care provider team and other agencies providing nursing or related services to provide continuity of care and to implement a comprehensive plan of care
Performs on-going case management/supervisory visits according to patient’s needs as ordered by the physician, policy and state regulations to ensure adherence to the plan of care
Supervises patient care provided by licensed vocational nurses and paraprofessionals. This supervision includes direct and indirect monitoring of private duty personnel interactions with patients, families, and physicians
Coordinates obtaining medical supplies and equipment for patients as needed. Provides instruction to private duty personnel and other care providers on the proper use and maintenance of equipment and medical supplies appropriate for care
Provides consultation with and education of the client and family regarding the disease process, self-care techniques and disease prevention strategies, as appropriate
Provides leadership, the application of new knowledge, and encourages staff motivation. Acts as a resource for patient, families and private duty personnel
Participates in the On-Call rotation and as requested

Licensed in the State of California by the Board of Registered Nursing.
Current CPR card, health clearance and clinical skills self-assessment
Minimum of two years of professional nursing experience.

OCTOBER 2017 – MEDICAL MISSION TO GHANA, WEST AFRICA
JOIN US FOR 13 DAYS IN GHANA!
SHOW ME YOUR STETHOSCOPE and HEALTHY VILLAGES, INC. are partnering to bring a team of 10 nurses and nurse practitioners to remote villages in the Volta Region of Ghana. This mission will bring vitally needed medical interventions to poor villagers who could otherwise not afford care. In October 2016, a Healthy Villages – SMYS mission treated over 800 people. In October 2017, we will treat > 1000 people, as well as provide testing, treatment, and referral for public health concerns like TB, STIs and HIV.
This mission will be focused on women’s health, and will run in conjunction with another Healthy Villages, Inc. project to distribute 500 kits of washable and reusable sanitary products to poor girls and women in villages who have no access to disposable menstrual pads. We are partnering with another U.S. non-profit, Women To Be, for this effort. Women To Be has taken 2,000 kits to Nepal and Guatemala, and this will be their first such mission to the African continent. As part of this project, we will also be conducting informal classes to share information about menstruation, family planning, reproduction, and sexuality.
We expect to see at least 500 adolescent girls and women in the health mission clinic. We will be primarily focused on testing for pregnancy, STIs, HIV, and providing appropriate medications and referrals for continuing treatment to the Ghana Health Service. Women presenting with other (general) medical problems will also be served. Women will receive advice and counseling regarding their ob/gyn health needs.
· DATES: October 21 to November 4. (inclusive of date of departure from the U.S. & date of arrival back in the U.S.). · COST: In-country cost: $2,000. Flight cost: approximately $1,000 to $1,500. Pre-travel costs: approximately $250. Total cost: approximately $3,500 (does not include personal expenditures). A $200 non-refundable deposit will be required to secure your place on the mission. This will be deducted from your total cost. · ITINERARY: We will be based in Dogbekope Village, in the southeast corner of Ghana near the Togo border, about a four-hour drive east of Ghana’s capital, Accra. Lodging will be basic hotel accommodations in the nearest small town; meals will be catered local dishes. We will spend six full days in clinic. Every two days, we will rest and take in local sites of interest. Healthy Villages co-director Godfried Agbezudor is an expert in Ghana’s history and traditions and will provide you with a cultural orientation. · FUNDING: Participants will be expected to do their own fundraising to cover costs. We will provide you with ideas for how to go about it. Albert will be 87 in November. He lives with us, his son and daughter-in-law. We currently have a comitted excellent home healthcare person who picks him up from adult daycare daily and is with him from 3-6:30 M-F. On Mondays and Fridays she is with him from 9:45 AM to 6:30 PM wtih a two hour break. She has agreed to stay with us until Al dies. This could be a while as he is in excellent health. He walks with a walker about 6K steps a day, loves to go to the movies, plays and art museums and music is his life. Albert's diagnosis is vascular Dementia. He is still able to dress and shower himself, yet needs insturctions and reminders for the sequencing of his ADL's. He is fit, and cares about how he looks. He takes good care of his teeth. We make all of his food for him as he is a recovered diabetic. He takes his food with him when he leaves the house. We have a disabled parking permit for those of us who drive him. We need a skilled, mature, experienced eldercare nurse on the weekends, from 10:30-6:30 PM. We would like this to be the same person for Saturdays and Sundays. Albert has longterm healthcare insurance and his policy will cover a registered nurse. We have two cats. Keo, Alberts's daughter in law, is a retired personal trainer and competitive strength athlete. Albert is a Korean War veteran who used to play basketball for the Air Force. He never saw conbat, yet survived a fatal car accident in his early 60s. He walks with a gaited limp and is balance challenged. Happy, healthy and alert, Al maintians a good sense of humor, has a positive attitude about life and is compliant and easygoing.
