LPR International is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to work full time at the U.S. Army Fort Hunter Liggett Medical Aid Station in Jolon, CA. Qualifications:

Must possess a master's degree in nursing from an accredited educational program in the area of expertise or specialty indicated by the position. Areas of specialties for NP positions include, but are not limited to, Acute Care, Community Health, Family, Geriatric, Home Health or other specialties identified for the position.

 

Education:

  • Graduated from an accredited master's level or doctoral program with additional knowledge to practice in their clinical specialty.
  • Contractor personnel shall be required to meet Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements in Army Regulation 351-3 (AR 351-3) or as determined by the provider's State of licensure, whichever is more stringent. The Government will not reimburse for these costs.

 

Licensure/Certifications:

  • Possess and maintain a current unrestricted license to practice as a NP in any of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands and be able to obtain clinical privileges to practice medicine at the MTF where services are provided.
  • Must have or obtain a current, valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration number prior to performing the contract services. Any change to the DEA requirements to obtain a valid DEA registration number is applicable when the incumbent's existing DEA registration expires.
  • Have and maintain certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Centre (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
  • Be certified by a nationally recognized certifying body appropriate to the specialty area of practice.
  • Possess a Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs (BNDD) number as required by state agencies where the provider is licensed.
  • Have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. The American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers is the only program accepted. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification is desirable, but not required.

 

Experience:

  • Have a minimum of one year of experience within the last three years working as a Nurse Practitioner.  

 

Specific Duties/Tasks:

  • Provide medical care, to include sick call, and treatment of diseases and/or injuries. Review medical histories and progress of patients. Examine patients, make diagnosis of disease, or injury, and treat patient or prescribe a course of treatment. Abide by all facility rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Seek advice of consultants, when appropriate.
  • Oversee and monitor other medical personnel in the care and treatment of patients to include non­therapeutic services such as physical examinations
  • Set up sterile field and prepares heparinized saline solutions. Maintains aseptic technique, manipulates wires and catheters, anticipates catheter tip location, operates fluoroscopic single-plane and bi-plane x-ray equipment and selects appropriate angulations and positions x-ray table and image intensifier for optimal display of angiographic anatomy while assisting physician in conducting various medical procedures.
  • Prescribe medications, as appropriate, and in accordance with the privileges, hospital rules, and regulations.
  • Prepare documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with hospital directives, ensuring that all documentation and reports are legible and complete. Utilize the appropriate electronic medical record system for patient encounters if available
  • Refer all requests for patient/hospital information that cannot be handled by clinic personnel to the Patient Administration Division. After normal duty hours, requests should be referred to the Administrative Officer of the Day (AOD) or appropriate authorized personnel. Neither the contractor nor HCPs shall release medical information without prior coordination with the AOD.
  • Adhere to the Center for Disease Control guidelines concerning universal precautions and the MTF Infection Control Program at all times while providing services under this contract.
  • Perform all duties in such a manner that they meet all JC standards.
  • Clearly communicate to other health personnel either orally or in writing the findings, diagnosis, and planned treatment regimen or referral.

  • Provide life, limb, and eyesight emergency care as able and immediately transfer patients in a medical or surgical emergency to a hospital under a physician care as necessary.
  • Determine appropriate means of evacuation of emergency patients, prepare patients for evacuation, and arrange for evacuation support.
  • Independently prescribe medications from approved formulary. Administer intra-muscular or intravenous medication as appropriate. Issues temporary profiles according to policy provided by the governing MTF.
  • Communicate in writing and verbally to line commanders/supervisors to recommend appropriate limitations to performance of military duties for patients. The written guidance is provided using appropriate forms such as temporary profiles IA W Army regulations to include placing profiles into eProfile system.
  • Provide clinical supervision of RNs & LPNs and other ancillary personnel who rotate through the Medical Aid Station ensuring patient safety and compliance with MEDCOM regulations on scope of practice for medics and nursing personnel.
  • Be responsible for pharmacy operations within the Medical Aid Station to include oversight of the Pharmacy Technician and reviewing all prescriptions before they are dispensed.

Infectious Disease Registered Nurse ,

LPR International is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to support our client in PG County. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Responds back to any emails that were received over night. These emails consist of potential/confirmed Infectious Disease Exposures for County employees. The exposures include but are not limited to COVID-19, BBP, TB, MRSA, etc. 
  • Contact the affected employee(s), obtain necessary demographic and source patient information. Contact the hospital’s Infection Control Officer for source patient testing. Contacting the Infection Control Officer is done by phone call and submit the necessary paperwork, via email, at their request. Document all information in Occu-Source and the exposure notebook. Follow up with the Infection Control Officer every 2 hours until labs are received or until the officer is able to provide a return time on requests. 
  • Conduct Infectious control classes for all county departments at their facilities approximately 2 to 5 days a week. (Corrections, Fire, Police, Sherriff, Health). Classes can last 2 to 4 hours and have a capacity of 10 to 70 patients per class. 
  • Assess for Signs and symptoms for allergic reactions from injections. 
  • Provide injections (intramuscular and intradermal) to necessary departments and provide knowledgeable information on all injections. 
  • Provide a Flu Clinic for all County Departments. This entails a class along with providing the injections. 
  • Provide assistance with county physicals/stress testing at the onsite clinic as needed. 

 

Qualifications:  

  • A strong working knowledge and skills to use a variety of computer systems is highly desirable.  
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of nursing experience. 
  • Able to pass a background check with the Dept of Corrections. 

 

Licensure/Certification/Registration 

  • Possess and maintain a current license to practice as a RN. 

 

Additional Info: 

  • Hours of Operations M-F 7a-7p and alternating weekends 8a-12p (some weekend and evening hours are required depending on the need)

LPR International is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to work at the Medical Aid Station. In this position, the successful candidate will assist in identifying patient needs and implementing the plan of care at Fort Hunter Liggett, California. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Obtain patient history during patient visit. 
  • Perform quality control checks and operator maintenance for appropriate waive testing. 
  • Assist in identifying patient needs and implementing the plan of care

  • Prepare patients for physical examination.

  • Graduate of a school of Registered Nursing approved by the appropriate State agency and/or accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or Commission on Collegiate. 
  • Nursing Education (CCNE) at the time the program was completed 
  • Exceptions to above education: Healthcare education in the military service or training in the military service which is accepted by the licensing body in the jurisdiction in which the individual is licensed as qualifying for full RN licensure will be accepted.  
  • Contractor personnel shall be required to meet Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements in Army Regulation 351-3 (AR 351-3) or as determined by the provider's State office of licensure, whichever is more stringent. The Government will not reimburse for these costs. 
  • A minimum of 1 year of nursing triage experience within the last five years. Studies and experience specifically related to Women's Health Issues is desirablebut not required.
