GENERAL JOB SUMMARY

The Certified Nurse Assistant is responsible for providing residents with prompt and courteous routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the residents assessment and care plan, as well as any other job duties listed below or as outlined by their supervisor. Complies with federal, state and local standards for community operation. Incorporates the Generation’s mission, vision, and values in the daily work and interactions with others.
 
SCOPE OF JOB TASKS:
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Help each resident reach and maintain the highest level of performance and independence while assisting them with personal care and daily living activities
  • Assist the resident in personal care and daily living. This may include providing and clearing bedpans and urinals, shaving, showers, fingernail and footcare and dressing.
  • Provide appropriate patient care as directed by the licensed nurse.
  • Assist in providing care and implementing delegated activities of the nursing plan.
  • Assists with meals and feeding residents, as needed.
  • Lift patients into beds, wheelchairs, exam tables, etc.
  • Documents services performed in patient chart
  • Ambulates, turn and position patients
  • Provide fresh water and nourishment between meals
  • As needed, administers enemas, douches, nonsterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, sitz and therapeutic baths, and apply restraints
  • Clean and sanitize patient areas
  • Change bed sheets and restock rooms with necessary supplies
  • Tracks I&Os; checks vital signs (TPR) and weight; performs sugar and acetone urine testing, specimen collection, and post-mortem care
  • Reports observations of patients to the nurse caring for the patient
  • With specialized training and written approval, may perform additional and specialized tasks pertinent to the assigned area
 
JOB SPECIFICATION:
 
Education:  
  • High school diploma or GED is required
 
Experience:
  • One (1) year of relevant experience as Certified Nurse Assistant or Caregiver is highly desired
 
Qualifications:
  • Current Nursing Assistant Certification in accordance with the laws of the state
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

SUPERVISOR: Director of Clinical Services

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: 
 
The Regional Registered Nurse works with the clinical support teams to assist in assuring that the quality of care and clinical standards are met and maintained at all Generations communities. Responsible for upholding the Generations’ five core values, mission, and vision.
 
SCOPE OF JOB TASKS:
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
 
  • Shall assist in the development, revision, and review of policies and procedures of the clinical department of the communities.
  • Shall assist in systems review, standardization and implementation in all Generations’ communities.
  • Support in assessing the needs of and implementing training and programs to meet the ongoing needs of the clinical teams at the communities.
  • Shall work alongside post-acute teams to ensure best practices. Act and an advocate to Generations’ staff and residents by reporting high-risk situations to the Director of Clinical Services, as they occur. 
  • Shall be responsible and accountable for supporting the quality assurance mock survey process performed in each facility site annually.
 
 
May be assigned additional duties as needed.
 
JOB SPECIFICATION
 
Qualifications:
  • Must be a Registered Nurse currently licensed by the State of California, Utah, and Colorado all other States that the company operates or provides clinical oversite for. If not currently licensed, licensure will be obtained within 90 of date of hire.
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the area of, policy and procedure development, education and training in healthcare in which three (3) of those years are in the Long-Term Care, and/or Post-Acute settings.
  • Must be able to be self-directed.

Working Conditions:
 
  • Time in spent in an office setting as well as the community setting for observations, trainings, and assessments.
  • Must have the ability to travel 50% of time.
  • Must have the ability to travel long distance by plane and/or vehicle.
  • Must have the ability to have overnight stays with travel and may be required to travel outside of normal business hours. Must have the ability and flexibility to change travel plans without prior notice to accommodate the needs of the communities.
