Pharmacy Manager- 13 Week Contract (Temp to Perm Opportunity)
Days - 8am-5pm - no call

Experience: 8-10 years of health system experience preferred, with 3-5 years required in a management position.

License(s): State of Colorado Registered Pharmacist license
POSITION PURPOSE: In concert with the Pharmacy Director, the Inpatient Pharmacy Manager is responsible for all activities of the Inpatient Pharmacy Department, including responsibilities for pharmaceutical distribution, staff management, fiscal management, and clinical management. Oversee operations of the pharmacy and ensures that it is following all Colorado state and federal laws, JCAHO standards as well as the mission, vision, and values of VVMC.ESSENTIAL

JOB FUNCTIONS:
*Develop and implement pharmacy services in collaboration with associated department services.
*Develop, implement, and maintain a program that improves the quality of pharmacy services, improves medication use safety, and supports the quality improvement plan of the organization.
*Supervise the inpatient pharmacy regarding dispensing, clinical activities, and staff scheduling. Prepare work schedules and monitor workload statistics. Maintain appropriate staffing levels that match workload and promote patient safety.
*Supervise medication storage and preparation areas throughout the facility. Establish specifications for the safe and secure storage of medications, chemicals, and biologicals.
*Facilitate the implementation and maintenance of safe medication use processes throughout the organization.
*Ensure adequate control and documentation of controlled substances.
*Provide for the pharmaceutical educational needs of health care professionals, patients, and patients families. Support the medical and nursing staff in ensuring optimum medication therapy, including serving as a drug information resource.
*Maintain education and competencies of staff and self. Ensure compliance with all hospital HR policies.
*Oversee required compliance auditing.
*Perform other duties as assigned.
Must be HIPAA compliant.Certification(s): BLS for Healthcare Providers
