Our Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) team provides high-value safety initiatives like Journey to Zero and the ongoing management of emergency services, health and wellness, and environmental monitoring and reporting. If you are a passionate health professional and want to help us in our safety journey, while applying and growing your knowledge, we have an amazing opportunity for you! Join us on a contract basis where you will work closely with our dynamic team of professionals, including an Occupational Health Physician and safety personnel, to assure the quality, integrity and value of health services.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Provide primary support to ill or injured employees
  • Maintain confidential medical records
  • Liaise with service providers, insurance carriers, community health care professionals, management and employees to ensure optimal recovery and an early and safe return to work
  • Liaise with the operational leaders to define roles in emergency response, critical incidents and other standard operating procedures
  • Review medical information to advise on support/non-support for absences due to medical reasons
  • Perform health surveillance monitoring, including health assessments 
  • Support the disability case management process and facilitate return to work programs
  • Participate in time sensitive regulatory reporting of workplace injuries

We’d like to review your application if you have…

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • One year of experience working as an Occupational Health Nurse
  • Experience working during emergency situations/responses
  • Proven proficiency with adult emergency first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation,  and automated external defibrillator (AED) use
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy and results management
  • Knowledge of disability case management process, return to work programs, medical surveillance programs and wellness programs
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Active registration with the State Board of Nursing and your Colorado Registered Nursing (RN) License
  • Strong communication skills that enables you to build strong, positive relationships with diverse groups

Preference for:

  • American Board for Occupational Health Nurses (ABOHN) or American Association of Occupational Health Nurses (AAOHN) certification  
  • Proficiency in audiometry, spirometry and vision testing interpretation
  • Experience interpreting and applying Colorado and Wyoming workers’ compensation laws
  • Experience working in a unionized industrial setting  
  • Knowledge of Cority  

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our Commerce City refinery, located at 5455 Brighton Blvd.
  • This is a contract position till the end of 2020 with a guaranteed 40 hour work week (day shift including weekends)
