McKinley and Co is currently hiring qualified Registered Nurses (Rn's) and Licensed Practitioners Nurses (LPN's) to work in public schools across the Chicagoland area with students! Paid training.
IMMEDIATE HIRING!

Position Summary
Your primary responsibility will be to provide health services to students when they are at school. For example, you'll treat injuries and mild to acute sicknesses, or support students with chronic illnesses. You'll also help with preventive care by educating students on how to avoid communicable diseases and having proper hygiene.

Responsibilities
  • Provide basic healthcare to students in case of injury or acute illness
  • Develop health plans for students with chronic illnesses and disabilities
  • Educate students and staff on healthy habits, such as proper nutrition and hygiene
  • Detect health problems in early stages through regular screenings
  • Keep track of students' vaccination records
  • Update students' medical history
  • Ensure school environment is safe for children and school staff (e.g. prevention of communicable diseases)
  • Write referrals for pediatricians and other health specialists
  • Ensure compliance with national and local health laws
Required Qualifications:
  • IL Nursing License
  • CPR/BLS Certification
  • Current TB test (skin, blood, chest x-ray)
  • Full COVID Vaccination record

Experience required:
  • Must have 6 months or more of *direct patient care experience* within the last (3) years or in one or more of the following areas.
  • Care: Note: Must be comfortable with Carb Counting/ Insulin Administration using insulin pens or syringes School age children are recently diagnosed so they need guidance, supervision, and teaching while servicing and will have different levels of diabetes education and may be recently diagnosed.

Starting salary is $1,350 and includes room & board.

Being the camp nurse is an active part in what we strive to be as a camp. It includes the promotion of good health, prevention of injuries as well as monitoring health and cleanliness standards pertaining to camp and the facilities while being responsible for the care of ill or injured campers and staff.
● Maintain an active nursing license in the State of New Hampshire with up to date
BLS/CPR certification. Additional certifications preferred. Be able to provide such
documentation.
● Experience in emergency, trauma or pediatric/school nursing preferred.
Direct Health Responsibilities:
● Ensure each staff member and camper has a clear and accurate health record on file
including a health history and examination form, as required. Discuss with staff any
pertinent camper health information, and make recommendations for the following
summer season as needed.
● Ability to keep neat and orderly records of all care rendered, including injuries, over the
counter medicine, first aid, communication with parents or licensed independent
providers from off camp facilities.
● Take initiative, be self-sufficient and have the ability to recognize when a higher level of
care is necessary and be able to provide stabilizing care until a higher level is reached.
Keep staff and parents up to date on current information and status.

● Make appointments, when necessary, with medical/dental/specialty offices in the local
community and follow up as needed.
● Maintain a list of staff and campers who are on trips including medication administration
while out of camp, providing and maintaining first aid kits and instruction for needs
while away from direct nursing supervision.
● Makes sure that all medications brought to camp are checked for accuracy and expiration
and are locked in the Pill Box and dispensed under the nurse’s care. Keeps record of pills
administered to whom and when they are given.
● Keep accident/incident reports that can be used for risk-management assessment.
● Be a medical resource that would bridge the gap between basic medical knowledge and
calling 911.
● Conduct inventory of supplies and medications and place orders when necessary,
ensuring timely arrival of supplies. Keep the infirmary clean and organized.

If you like working in a small dedicated team, being in the great outdoors, being flexiable and providing care for youth than this is the place for you!
