The planning and delivery of professional nursing care is based on knowledge and application of biological, physical and social sciences. RN’s utilize the nursing process to include assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and re-assessment to establish the plan of care. The RN’s duty to the patient is to provide safe, compassionate, and comprehensive nursing care. The RN will know and conform to the Texas Nursing Practice Act and the nursing board’s rules and regulations as well as federal, state, or local laws, rules or regulations affecting the nurse’s current area of nursing practice.
