Deliver care to ICU patients across the country from the comfort and convenience of one of our state-of-the-art Virtual Care Centers across the U.S. Hicuity Health, the leading high acuity telemedicine provider in the United States, is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as a Tele-ICU Registered Nurse (RN) - nights. In this position you won't have to choose between your two passions, caring for the critically ill and caring about your family.   This position demonstrates leadership through the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of critical care patients remotely in the Hicuity Health Operations Center.  Nursing care is provided to the patient through remote monitoring with the goal of early detection of warning signs of clinical deterioration. The tele-ICU RN will be a member of a collaborative team responsible for providing telemedicine to a diverse population of critically ill adults across multiple ICUs at various hospitals while working in our local Operations Center.

Responsibilities

 

  • Collects and analyzes patient and family data for the purpose of assessment, diagnosis and management.
  • Efficiently assembles a focused assessment of physiological, psychological and medical record data. 
  • Uses critical thinking skills in diagnosing clinical problems and in defining interventions.
  • Re-evaluates prior diagnoses and care plans at appropriate intervals in accordance with expected patient outcomes.
  • Prioritize clinical problems accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Responds to routine, urgent and emergent patient problems appropriately by demonstrating effective decision-making.  Provides follow-up to ensure problem resolution. 
  • Formulates and articulates succinct and comprehensive assessments of real or potential problems to the Hicuity Health Intensivist.
  • Solves clinical patient problems independently and in a timely manner; communicates unresolved problems to the Intensivist.
  • Effectively communicates with members of the Hicuity Health Operations Center Team and bedside ICU interdisciplinary team in a collegial manner to provide safe and error-free care. 
  • Complies with best practices and other care directives of the monitored ICUs.
  • Prevents clinical problems from occurring by:
  • Direct observation via videoconferencing
  • Proactive surveillance of adverse physiological trends
  • Assurance of appropriately ordered prophylactic strategies
  • Medical chart review
  • Appropriate reaction to alarms
