Duties: Include things such as assisting us with personal care tasks (i.e. bathing, dressing, toileting) cooking, cleaning/laundry and occasionally running errands.
Hours: We are looking for someone willing to work every Tuesday and Wednesday evening, plus the second and fourth weekends of each month.

Camp Wah-Nee is a private, premier, beautiful co-ed sleep away camp located in the foothills of the Berkshires in northwestern Connecticut. The camp sits in a country setting overlooking our 75 acre lake. Our health care team is comprised of 4 nurses, physician on site 24 hours a day, EMT and an administrator. We will gladly consider new grads that have passed the boards. Applicants with camp age children (8-16 years old) are welcome to be full time campers. It is a unique and wonderful experience to work in a camp setting where children and staff flourish. We have 400 campers (200 girls/200 boys) and approximately 175 staff. We run one session - all campers and staff stay for the 7 weeks. All staff RESIDE at camp for the season. You would have a private room, air conditioning and bathroom. Although professional, we are informal. We work in shorts and t-shirts in a warm, friendly atmosphere. Work days vary significantly. There may be days when the caseload is light and you are able to spend hours relaxing. There may be others when the caseload is heavy and you are very busy on your shift. Our population is basically healthy children. They will, however, not feel well on occasion. Colds, coughs, allergies, sore throats, sprains, strains, cuts and fractures do occur. Patients with serious ailments/injuries are transported to the local hospital by our camp drivers. Meds are distributed each day to campers who require them. It is the little things that keep our medical staff busy.......but that is the way camp is!!! Our camp season runs from June 22 to Aug. 10. Staff orientation for nurses begin June 15th.
