• Attend to illnesses or injuries of both campers and staff per written protocols
• Work within written protocols and scope of practice.  Actively seek out definition from the Health Lodge Supervisor and Camp Physician whenever necessary
• Administer both over-the-counter and prescription medications to campers and staff per written protocol at designated times 
• Maintain accurate and up to date records of medication administration as well as illness and injury  care delivered to campers and staff per written protocols
• Report illness, injury or abuse to proper authorities when necessary per written protocol
• Maintain a watchful presence to the overall wellness of campers and staff
• Work directly with the Camp Physician, EMS, fire department and hospital either by phone or in person when such need may arise to attend to the illness or injury of a camper or staff
• Live in the health lodge and attend to camper illness and injury as the on-duty overnight registered nurse
• Attend morning supervisory staff meetings and other camp meetings and functions when assigned to do so by the Health Lodge Supervisor or Camp Director.
• Attend meals at the Camp Sloane dining hall if directed to do so by the Health Lodge Supervisor or Camp Director
• With the help of the entire health lodge staff, maintain cleanliness and order within the health lodge to standards set by the Health Lodge Supervisor.

• Work in a team environment within the guidelines of the camp physician and health lodge supervisor.
• Maintain current certification as a Registered Nurse in the state of Connecticut.
• Lift as much as 25 lbs.
• Arrive on time for all scheduled activities and duties
• Complete all duties as assigned.

The Health Lodge Coordinator is the head of the Health Lodge. They are in charge of helping with the staffing, scheduling and organization of the health lodge during the summer. The position runs from June-August, with some contract work earlier in the year. Although it is not a resident postiion, the Health Lodge Coordinator may have to cover some overnight shifts when coverage is needed. The right candidate is experiened, organized and a strong people-person. Preference will be given to candidates wtih school or camp nursing backgrounds. A great benefit of this positon is that you can send your kids to camp as part of compensation. 

Key responsibilities:

• Create weekly/daily schedule for nursing staff and make sure all shifts are covered properly
• Work at least 2-weeks ahead with camper's medical paperwork, medication authorizations, etc.
• Cover nursing shifts during resident nurse time off and attend to illnesses or injuries of both campers and staff per written protocols
• Create and implement nurse training for new nurses and staff

The Role:

Mavencare is looking for Registered Nurses (RNs) who can work across the Greater Boston Area. Flexible hours. The ideal candidate will have experience in both community based and acute care care settings and is comfortable going conducting in-home assessments. Opportunities to grow into other clinical roles as the organization grows. The rate for this position is $85 per assessment.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform in-home assessments and create plans of care for patients,
• Complete and submit assessment paperwork in a timely and organized manner.
• Assist the Clinical Care Manager in assessing the competency and performance of home health aides.

Requirements:

• RN with an active Massachusetts State license
• At least one year of nursing experience in an acute care facility, and at least one year of nursing experience in a home care organization.
• Working knowledge of Massachusetts State regulations as they relate to the services provided by a Licensed Home Care Service Agency.
• Current professional liability insurance policy.
