POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for the management and supervision of the Wellness Services Center. Responsible for the provision of preventative and emergency health services and wellness education to students. Ensures confidentiality of sensitive information and compliance with all HIPAA laws.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Registered nurse. Minimum of an Associate of Arts degree in nursing. Active, unrestricted license to practice in state where center is located. Three years of health care experience, with at least one year in a supervisory capacity required. Regional Approval required.

MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISION Supervises and manages the Wellness Services staff, Department and subcontracted Wellness services including mental health, dental and medical services.

• Must have a registered Licensed Practical Nurse license with a minimum of 1-year experience. Supervision aspects include: Communicates with outside departments, including answering questions and providing teaching as needed.
• Attends scheduled departmental meetings to keep the Healthcare department involved and aware of issues with the other departments, Provides and supervises orientation to new Healthcare department employees and new teaching to current Healthcare department employees.
• Prepares staff nurse schedule and communicates to vendors.
• Helps to resolve scheduling conflicts and manage staff needs.
• Solely responsible to take after hours call ins and find nursing staff to maintain Healthcare coverage as required by the facility.
• Frequently comes into work or stays late to cover the vacancies.
• Making sure physician’s orders are transcribed and followed through upon to ensure the Healthcare needs of the adolescents are taken care of.
• Healthcare Supplies: Checks and maintains supplies needed for the Healthcare department.
• Compliance: Maintains records and other documentation to ensure that Healthcare clinic remains in compliance at all times.

• Under general supervision, is responsible for psychiatric technical work of average difficulty; and performs related work as required.
• Distinguishing Features: This is the working level class in the Psychiatric Technician sub-series.
• Positions may work in direct care on patient units in a psychiatric hospital with responsibilities including providing daily living care, individualized teaching, group teaching, and supervised medical assistance.
• In addition, some positions may work as unit coordinators or admissions clerks with responsibilities such as entering/editing patient information into a database; ordering medical and office supplies; explaining admission procedures, taking vital signs, and collecting other information from patients at the time of admission; and other clerical or patient care work. An employee in this class may be assigned to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse and experience equivalent to one year of registered nursing. Or Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse and education equivalent to a bachelor's or graduate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university or a diploma in registered nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee or holds a privilege to practice in the State of Tennessee under the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
• A valid motor vehicle operator license may be required. Under general supervision, is responsible for registered nursing duties of average difficulty based on based on a wide range of circumstances and performs related work as required.
• Provides nursing care and procedures according to physician’s orders and nursing protocol.
• Administers medication according to the physician's orders and protocol.
• Evaluates possible side effects and the overall effectiveness of medication.
• Performs BLS (Basic Life support), CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), and other emergency responses. Participates in emergency response setting.
